Beijing, December 31, 2021 (TNS): On the eve of New Year, President Xi Jinping delivered his 2022 New Year Address. The Address was delivered through China Media Group and the Internet. Xi Jinping greeted everyone on the approach of 2022 extending New Year wishes to all.
He stated that the previous year has been a year of unprecedented significance. China has lived through landmark events in history. At the historical confluence of the Two Centenary Goals, China has set out on a new journey of creating a modern socialist country in every sense along with making confident strides on the course toward the remarkable revitalization of the Chinese nation.
Chinese President noted that ever since the beginning till the end of 2021, the Chinese nation has worked hard in the communities, schools, fields, barracks, enterprises, hospitals, and research institutes amongst other places.
“To realize the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation will be no easy task like a walk in the park; it will not happen overnight, or through sheer fanfare. We must always keep a long-term perspective, remain mindful of potential risks, maintain strategic focus and determination, and attain to the broad and great while addressing the delicate and minute”. Throughout the year, China has emerged as a resilient and dynamic country with its amiable and honorable people, developing rapidly with each passing day, and making incessant progress in all its endeavors.
In his Address, Xi Jinping reminisced about the achievements of China throughout the previous year. From celebrating the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China (CPC) to the sixth plenary session of the 19th CPC Central Committee and the adoption of the Party’s third resolution on historical issues.
Recalling Mao Zedong, the Chinese President expressed that he referred to Chairman Mao’s conversation with Huang Yanpei at his cave-dwelling in Yan’an, and the importance of carrying out bold self-revolution so as to gain the historical initiative.
President Xi highlighted that the concerns of the people are his foremost priority. Furthermore, the realization of a relatively prosperous society in every sense as well as the elimination of extreme poverty has been achieved by the CPC.
“A Yellow River well harnessed is a millennia-long aspiration of the Chinese people. From the Yellow River and the Yangtze River, to the limpid Qinghai Lake and the mighty Yarlung Zangbo River; from South-North Water Diversion, to Saihanba forest, from northward trek and homecoming of elephants in Yunnan Province to migration and return of Tibetan antelopes, all these remind us that ‘If we do not fail Nature, Nature shall never fail us’”. Xi Jinping, during his Address on the eve of New Year, recounted the achievements of the Chinese Nation; from the Xihe satellite chasing the sun, Zhurong rover probing Mars, and the Tianhe space station core module traveling among the stars as well as athletes outdoing themselves to excel on the sports field.
Lauding the national cohesion and unity he stressed that the members of the People’s Liberation Army and Armed Police are devoted to building a strong military as well as protecting the country, solid COVID-19 response, and people in disaster-stricken areas standing together to reconstruct homes is commendable.
About Hong Kong and Macao, he stated that One Country, Two Systems as well as the prosperity and stability of both regions are always close to the heart of the mainland. Moreover, the complete reunification of China is an aspiration shared by people on both sides of the Taiwan Strait.
