Islamabad: Jan 08, 2022 (TNS): At least 22 tourists were killed on Saturday after their vehicles were stranded in snow in Murree, a popular tourist destination in Pakistan.

The cause of their deaths is said to be suffocation due to being trapped inside their cars after being buried under heavy blankets of snow.

Emergency has been declared in Murree “due to heavy snowfall and hardship faced by local populations and tourists, causing many deaths”, the government said.
