Ring Road Rawalpindi, Kachehri Chowk projects to be started soon: Commissioner Rawalpindi

RAWALPINDI: Feb 08, 2022 (TNS): The Commissioner Rawalpindi Division Noor ul Amin Mengal has directed to take steps for the early start of Ring Road Rawalpindi and Kachehri Chowk projects. A meeting was held under the chairmanship of Commissioner Rawalpindi Division and Director General RDA. In which Chief Engineer RDA Dr. Habib-ul-Haq Randhawa, Finance Department Lahore, P&D Department, Housing Department officers, and others participated. The two projects were discussed in the meeting and later the Commissioner Rawalpindi Division has directed to provide work to a reputed company for both the projects for which immediate steps should be taken as per rules and regulations. He said that the project of Kachehri Chowk has been approved by the Central Development Working Party (CDWP) and the project will cost Rs 4.7 billion. This will be the first project of this kind in the country, he said. Adding that the design work of Kachehri Chowk has been completed and the shifting of service will be completed soon and the tendering process will also be started soon. The Commissioner Rawalpindi Division also said that the plan for construction of Rawalpindi Ring Road-R3 has also been approved which will be from Banth (N-5) to Thalian (M-2) and will cost Rs. 23.606 billion and its length will be 38.3 km.
