Panamagate: SC to give ‘historic’ judgment on Friday

Islamabad, July 27 (TNS): The Supreme Court of Pakistan will announce verdict of Panama Papers case, a landmark case in country’s history s, on Friday.
The top court’s registrar said that the five judge bench headed by Justice Asif Saeed Khosa will announce the decision.
According to the cause list issued on Thursday, the historic verdict to be given at 11.30 am on Friday in Court Room No. 1, the apex court had reserved the verdict on July 21.
Earlier, out of five, two judges had recommended disqualification of Prime Minister while three other judges had recommended the further probe into Sharif family’s offshore assets with formation of a joint investigation team (JIT).
The probe team within mandate timeframe submitted its final report to the top court on July 10 and found Nawaz Sharif and his family of living beyond means.
The government rejecting the findings had challenged the JIT report in the apex court.
