Seoul, July 28 (TNS): Amid tension in the region, North Korea on Friday conducted a new missile test, rivals Japan and South Korea said.
According to Japanese media, the missile reached an altitude of about 3,000km and landed in the sea off Japan.
Earlier North Korea said it had tested an intercontinental ballistic missile for the first time on 4 July.
The reports said that latest missile seems to have flown further high and for longer distance than previous one.
The range of Pyongyang’s intercontinental ballistic missile has been doubtful, but some experts think it could reach US state of Alaska.
The newest missile was sailed from Jagang state in North Korea, Seoul said.
The test conducted by Pyongyang in 2017 was the newest to be carried out in defiance of a UN ban.
