PTI’s rally at Parade Ground today

ISLAMABAD july 30 (TNS): For the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s celebratory gathering at Parade Ground in Shakarparian area of the federal capital today (Sunday) preparations are underway.

Imran Khan, the PTI Chairman had announced to hold a ‘Youm-e-Tashakur jalsa’ [Thanksgiving Rally] following Nawaz Sharif’s disqualification as prime minister by the Supreme Court on Friday. The rally is planned to start at around 6pm and last till 11pm, according to the local administration.

For security at the site of the gathering, 1,600 security personnel will be deployed as per the security plan issued especially for the day.

Moreover, there are three ways set up for participants to enter Parade Ground.

To ensure that no one enters the venue without being checked for security, walkthrough gates have been installed at the entry points so that. A separate entry point has been made for women, where female security personnel will be present for frisking.

Capt (retd) Mushtaq Ahmed, the Deputy Commissioner Islamabad said the security arrangements have been completed for the rally.

Imran Khan, in a tweet on Saturday, claimed ‘record’ crowds will come to today’s gathering to celebrate Nawaz Sharif’s ouster. On Saturday night, the PTI chairperson visited Parade Ground to monitor preparations for the gathering. The party workers let fireworks off during their chairman’s

visit.
