ISLAMABAD, Jul 31 (TNS): As the day of Independence approaching fast, stalls loaded with flags, T-shirts with trousers, bangles, badges, wrist bands, caps, face masks, glasses and balloons have been set up. These items are selling like hot cake in all over the country.

A report aired by a private news channel, multicolour accessories and clothes demands have increased ahead of Independence Day, with people of all ages especially the youth and children, thronging roadside stalls.

“Our sales have gone up by over 100 per cent this year and well surpassed our targets,” said Ahmad Sher, a stallholder. A student Asma Maher, said “To flaunt our love for the motherland, we have purchased newly designed multicolor T-shirts, batches and wristbands especially for the Independence day.”

“I want to paint flag of the country on my face and enjoy bike ride with my friends on 14th august,” Ali sher another customer said.

The shops are also selling dresses in green and white colours to attract young girls. Multicolor bangles and dupattas are trendy among city girls. Some girls have plans to go for nail paints and tattoos to show their love and affection for their nation.

“I will wear a multicolor shalwar suit on this day. I specially ordered two dresses from online shopping site,” said Dua Azam.
