A total of 3,749 deputies of the Maslikhats are elected. Important changes in the upcoming elections, including a reduction in the threshold for political parties to get seats in parliament from 5%, a 30% quota for women, youth, and people with special needs on the party list, no quota for the Kazakhstan People’s Assembly in the New Mazhilis and the “Against All” line on the ballot. A total of seven political parties are participating in the election.

These reforms are a positive step towards modernizing the electoral system in Kazakhstan and promoting greater transparency and accountability in the political process. Kazakhstan will continue to focus on modernizing the economy, efficient governance, and improving the standard of living for its citizens. Kazakhstan has made political and socio-economic reforms and increased political pluralism and citizen participation in political life as per the order of President Kassyem Tokayev. Kazakhstan is going through a golden age of modernization as the President ordered constitutional reforms and amendments in 2019. In 2019, the government introduced several reforms to the election code, aimed at ensuring greater transparency and accountability in the electoral process such as improvement in voter registration procedures, the introduction of a new electoral system that

includes the use of biometric voter identification systems, new regulations for campaign financing, strengthening the role of election observers in monitoring the electoral process. The implementation of large-scale reforms has increased the public’s confidence.

These reforms have made a diverse impact on the country’s democratization processes, the strengthening of parliamentarians, and the development of a multiparty system. It is a symbol of the democratization and modernization of the political system. It is a stabilizing factor in Kazakh politics and its multi-party system. It is likely that parliament will be more diverse in terms of the political reshuffle.

Kazakhstan has done remarkably in enhancing the mechanism for safeguarding citizens’ rights, expanding the role and stature of Parliament, strengthening local governments, and promoting peace and stability. State institutions have
