His excellency Shovkat Mirziyoyev, President of Republic of Uzbekistan has visited Egypt on
the invitation of Egyptian President. This visit is in continuation of Uzbek President’s
initiative regarding developing a broader connectivity between Uzbekistan and rest of the
world. Historically relationship between Egypt and Uzbekistan have always remained very
cordial, as Egypt was the one of the first Arab countries which recognized the independence
of Uzbekistan. In last few years we have seen President Shovkat Mirziyoyev emerging as a
International states man who has not only contributed towards buying various countries on
one platform but has also played a key role in multilateral International Organizations. The
visit to Egypt has come at a time when Uzbekistan’s economy has taken incredible
turnaround after Covid pandemic. Egypt has signed number of agreements with Uzbekistan
including trade, cultural connectivity, education and tourism. It is worth mentioning that
Uzbekistan has emerged as a significant partner with not only regional countries but with
important capitals around world. The current visit of president Shovkat Mirziyoyev has not
only opened new avenues for Uzbekistan in Arab-African region but also it is likely that
Tashkent will become a major connectivity hub in Central Asia for all Arab-African countries.
