Analysis on Meeting of Uzbekistan President Shavkat Mirziyoyev with Kazakhstan President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev

An informal meeting between Kazakhstan President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and Uzbekistan President Shavkat Mirziyoyev took place in Shymkent, Kazakstan on 3rd
March 2023. During the conversation, both Presidents discussed issues of increasing trade turnover, attracting investments, and developing cooperation in strategically
important sectors. They also discussed further strengthening the UzbekistanKazakhstan relations and expanding mutually beneficial cooperation.
The Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan peoples are united by close national traditions, a common language group, culture, and religion. The cooperation between Kazakhstan
and Uzbekistan is making a significant contribution to the development of the Central Asian region.

Both Presidents gave specific instructions to deepen practical cooperation in the fields of industry, energy, agriculture, transport, and logistics. Openness, inclusiveness, and
mutual learning are the defining features of Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan’s foreign policy. The leadership of both the countries is true to the cause of serving humanity and working
for regional peace and sustainable development. The development of Kazakhstan-Uzbekistan relations is accelerating as a result of a strategic approach, mutual visits, and regular interaction between the two leaders. By undertaking projects like building transportation corridors, participating in economic cooperation initiatives, and growing its economy, both states have been actively seeking to sustain regional connectedness and development. Both leaders are very popular in the region. The vision of the Uzbekistan President
regarding “Good neighbourhood and regional cooperation” complements the dynamic vision of President Tokayev. It can be easily anticipated that Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan have progressed on the road of socioeconomic political success and sustainable development.
