Vice Chancellor of Allama Iqbal Open University, Professor Dr. Nasir Mehmood has directed to organize Songs Competition events throughout the year 2023 to celebrate the Golden Jubilee Celebrations of Allama Iqbal Open University. In this regard at Sir Syed Science College Rawalpindi under the auspices of the Rawalpindi Region, a national song competition was held between male and female students in which 50 male and female students participated.
Hajira Batool won the first position by singing ‘Hum Zinda Qoum Hain’, while Faiza Ali won the second position and Rida Arif won the third position. The judges of the comitition were Professor Muhammad Arif, Professor Muhammad Bashir Malik and Professor Baqir Wasim. The ceremony was presided over by Additional Director Regional Services, Safirullah,Director Student Affairs, Syed Ghulam Kazim Ali ,Regional Director Rawalpindi, Nasreen Akhtar Mirza . Congratulating the students who got the positions, Additional Director Regional Services, Safirullah said that the University Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Nasir Mahmood is keen to provide opportunities for co-curricular activities to the students, I congratulate all the students who participated in this competition and assure that the university will provide you such opportunities again and again.
Director students Affairs, Syed Ghulam Kazim Ali also congratulated the children for participating and securing positions.
He said in his address that the university has decided to organize this type of event in all its regional offices.
Syed Kazim Ali said that after listening to the songs of students, the belief has been strengthened that the youth of today love the soil of the country very much.
Speaking on the occasion, Director of Rawalpindi Region, Nasreen Akhtar Mirza said that we are grateful to the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Nasir Mehmood and Director General Regional Services, Dr. Malik Touqeer Ahmad Khan, under whose support and leadership we organized such concerts.
Nasreen Mirza congratulated the prize-winning students and their parents. He lauded the efforts of his team for making the event a success.
