Islamabad : Deputy Commissioner Murree Agha Zaheer Abbas Shirazi has said that parents should make children a part of pre-marital counseling session. The target in pre-marital counseling session is to complete the session with as many couples as possible. We try to make the parents a part of the pre-marital counseling session before marriage. Control over population growth will begin when we change our thinking. He expressed these views while addressing an awareness seminar with media representatives on the topic of pre-marriage counseling in Murree on Wednesday. He further said that the talk of pre-marriage marriage counseling of young people in Pakistan came about in 2018 when the Supreme Court of the country directed the government to take measures to curb the growing population through a suo motu notice.
Following the court order, the Council of Common Interests issued an advisory to all provinces making marriage counseling mandatory before marriage. The host of the event was District Population Welfare Officer Madam Shireen. The seminar was organized by Population Welfare Department Murree at Jannah Hall Municipal Corporation Murree.
Dr. Maryam Ali Abbasi also participated in the program. In the seminar, Dr. Maryam Ali Abbasi conveyed the important points and content of marital counseling to the public because of other preparations on the occasion of marriage, family formation, economic and social responsibilities. And it is also important to talk about genetic diseases.
