Chief Minister Punjab Mohsin Naqvi laid the foundation stone of the new building of Punjab Bar Council today and handed over a cheque worth Rs. 5 crore for the Punjab Bar Council. Former President Supreme Court Bar Association Ahsan Bhoon, former Federal Minister Azam Nazir Tarar, Chairman Punjab Bar Council, Executive Committee Asif Shehzad, Advocate General Punjab were also present on the occasion. The lawyers accorded a warm reception to CM Mohsin Naqvi on reaching Punjab Bar Council and presented him flowers. Mohsin Naqvi was given a briefing about the new building of Punjab Bar Council. CM while addressing a ceremony stated that the new building of Punjab Bar Council is not a favour but due right of the lawyers and the government is bound to grant them their right. Wherever the request for cooperation comes from the lawyers community, we extend cooperation without advertisement and financial assistance is also being provided to the Bar Councils. Mohsin Naqvi revealed that the verification of lawyers degree will be free for three months and an action is this regard will be undertaken from tomorrow. The lawyers can get their degrees verified without paying any fee for the next 90 days. The lawyers community can receive the cheques amounting to Rs. 2 crore for the hospital of Rawalpindi Bar Council whenever they feel like. The carpeting of Fane Road on the request of lawyers community will be done soon. The lawyers community have asked to cover the nullah and its solution will be found soon. CTO Lahore has been invited to the ceremony and will resolve the traffic problems after meeting with the lawyers from today. The Election Commission has imposed a ban on the construction of any housing society. The various delegations of lawyers community have asked about the housing societies but it is not possible due to shortage of time. Doctors will be assigned duties to provide treatment facilities to the lawyers in the Punjab Bar Council. We are ready to serve the lawyers community till the last day of our government. We will do whatever is possible for the well-being of lawyers community. We will soon build a hospital for the lawyers in Rawalpindi. CM underscored that the lawyers community are an integral part of the society and are also close to his heart. To resolve problems of the lawyers community is included in our priorities. CM stated that he had announced the construction of a building on an adjacent plot with the Punjab Bar Council and has fulfilled his promise today. “It is my duty to resolve due problems of the lawyers community on priority basis.” CM maintained. Vice Chairman Punjab Bar Council Basharat Ullah Khan, Secretary Law, Secretary Public Prosecution and other office bearers of Punjab Bar Council were also present on the occasion.
