Lahore(TNS): CM INAUGURATES ONE OF THE LATEST 250-BEDDED EMERGENCY BLOCK OF PAKISTAN IN MAYO HOSPITAL BEING COMPLETED IN A RECORD PERIOD OF 3 MONTHS

Owing to the untiring hard work and undertaking continuous visits, state of the art emergency block comprising 250-beds of Mayo Hospital has been completed in a record period of three months. The treatment facilities in one of the biggest emergency of a public sector of Pakistan are far better than the facilities being provided in the private hospitals. After the upgradation, 9 operation theatres have been turned latest in the Mayo Hospital along with provision of an excellent environment, quality facilities and disposable bed sheets. Digital record of the patients will be formulated as well. Mohsin Naqvi after inaugurating the emergency block visited all the floors and reviewed provision of facilities. CM inspected private rooms at all the floors and paid a visit to the reception counter, nursing counters, doctor rooms and the pharmacy. Mohsin Naqvi reviewed provision of facilities in the surgical ICU and Endoscopy emergency block. He appreciated provision of latest technology in the operation theatres and lauded high quality work being undertaken for the upgradation of the emergency block. CM after the inauguration of the emergency block in the Mayo Hospital and while talking with the media stated that by the Grace of Allah Almighty, the upgradation project of Mayo Hospital emergency block has been completed. When the Mayo Hospital emergency project had been launched than the people used to say that it would take more than a year for its completion. The hospital administration and the Health Department took the ownership of this project which resulted in its early completion. IDAP, Secretary C&W, XEN C&W Maryam Rathore and others used to work till 4 am late night for the upgradation of Mayo Hospital emergency block. Mohsin Naqvi stated that such an upgraded project will not only be witnessed in the Mayo Hospital but in every big hospital of Punjab. Such and installation of tiles in the emergency block of Mayo Hospital along with similar floors and labelling will be seen in all the hospitals across Punjab.

All the hospitals will be equally upgraded. A Mock Room has been established in the Services Hospital and all the other hospitals were being upgraded on the similar pattern. Every person is playing his due role for the upgradation of hospitals in Punjab. CM stated that owing to a dedicated team work, the emergency block in the Mayo Hospital has been completed in only 3 months. The Mayo Hospital emergency has become one of the biggest emergencies in Pakistan. The Mayo Hospital comprises 250-beds after the upgradation and earlier it comprised 175-beds. There were 4 operation theatres in the Mayo Hospital earlier and now 9 operation theatres have been established. The basement comprises 5 floors after the hospital emergency block being upgraded. Mohsin Naqvi stated that by the Grace of Allah Almighty, HIMS system has been installed for the first time in Punjab. HIMS system will maintain all the record of a patient through his CNIC number. If the patient is shifted to some other hospital due to registered data in the HIMS system then he does not need any record file. State of the art operation theatres and excellent furniture has been provided. New patients in the Mayo Hospital emergency will get better treatment facilities as compared to the facilities in any private hospital. Fire alarm, staff nurse call and all other essential facilities have been provided in the Mayo Hospital emergency block. The capacity building of neurosurgery facility has also been enhanced. CT scan machines had been shutdown since 2017 which have been made functional. Mohsin Naqvi highlighted that ICU doctors were not available in Punjab and ICU unit doctors have been inducted in the Mayo Hospital. People belonging to the lower strata will be provided free treatment and private rooms have been established for the wealthy people. A better treatment facility will be provided in the Mayo Hospital as compared to the private sector hospitals. CM appealed to the hospital administration and the doctors to take the ownership of the upgradation project only than condition of the hospital will remain in a better shape. C&W Department will maintain the Mayo Hospital for the coming 6 months and it is possible that a 3 years contract will be made with the C&W Department. We are going to inaugurate Nishtar-II and South City Hospital today. The facilities like Mayo Hospital will also be provided over there. Provincial Minister for SHC&ME Dr. Javed Akram, Provincial Minister for P&SHC Dr. Jamal Nasir, Chief Secretary, IG Police, Secretaries of Health and C&W departments, Commissioner Lahore, CCPO and concerned officials were also present on the occasion.
