Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue, Mr. Muhammad Aurangzeb, met with Mr. Brent Neiman, Deputy Under Secretary for International Finance, U.S. Department of Treasury on the sidelines of the IMF/World Bank Spring meetings in Washington D.C. Briefed him on the positive economic indicators of the country in the wake of SBA signed with IMF. Informed that Government had prioritized reforms in taxation, energy sector and SOEs. Underscored U.S. as Pakistan’s largest trading partner and key source of remittances/ FDI. Briefed him on SIFC’s role in facilitating foreign investment into the country Thanked him for his visit to Pakistan after the presentation of budget and assured full support in this regard.
