Licenses of 04 Pharmacies Suspended and 06 Prosecutions by the Quality Control Board, Islamabad.

The Quality Control Board, Islamabad held its 56th meeting under the chairmanship of Syed Moazam Ali, Addl: Secretary, Ministry of National Health Services Regulation.

Sardar Shabbir Ahmed, Secretary Quality Control Baord presented 26 different cases of violation of Drugs Act & DRAP Act for discussion and decision by the Board.

The Board after personal hearing of the concerned accused approved suspensions of licenses of 04 different pharmacies for 2 weeks on finding different violations of the Drugs Act, 1976 and DRAP Act, 2012 by these pharmacies and directed the Drug Inspectors to seal the premises during suspension period.

On recovery of un-registered drugs, the Board approved prosecution and directed the Drug Control Section to submit cases in Drug Court at the earliest.

The Board also ratified the decision of registration of FIR against 5 accused.

The Board also decided that all distributors shall install temp recording devices in their vehicles to maintain supply chain integrity.

The Board also appreciated the working of the Drug Control Section with the direction to enhance random surveillance.
