Karachi(Report pirbux Noonari)Karachi A shocking revelation has emerged involving water theft in Karachi, where main water lines are being illegally tapped under the guise of “sub-soil water.” A notorious water mafia, led by Shakil Mehr and Ajmal Khan, reportedly operates a well-organized network to steal water and sell it to factories in areas like SITE and Haroonabad.
Sources claim that this illegal operation is being facilitated by suspended inspector Aamir, alias Pager, who has allegedly introduced a campaign slogan for water theft. The network is said to generate millions of rupees monthly, with bribes being paid to secure protection from higher officials.
Despite the scale of the theft, the Anti-Theft Cell and other concerned departments have reportedly remained silent spectators, failing to take any meaningful action against the perpetrators. Suspended inspector Aamir is accused of colluding with the mafia, tarnishing the reputation of senior officials, and collecting significant monthly bribes as part of this scheme.
Shakil Mehr and Ajmal Khan have become infamous names in Karachi’s water mafia. Using suspended officials like Aamir as facilitators and leveraging alleged backing from higher-ups, they have established a network that continues to exploit the city’s water resources.
This systematic theft poses a grave challenge to the Karachi Water and Sewerage Corporation (KWSC) and raises questions about accountability and governance. The authorities must take immediate and stringent action to dismantle this network and ensure water resources are protected for Karachi’s citizens.
The public awaits a swift response to curb this blatant exploitation and hold those responsible accountable.
