Chitral, August 6 (TNS): Pakistan Peoples Party Chairperson Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari on Sunday demanded to probe Aysha Gulalai case under country’s sexual-harassment laws.
Speaking to journalists here on Sunday, Bilawal said it was upsetting to see how Ayesha Gulalai has been targeted for raising her voice against sexual harassment.
“If we want women of the country to progress, we should not malign them for raising their concerns,” PPP chairman said.
Bilwal Bhutto Zardari added comments such as those making rounds should not be hurled upon women — their families — who come forward.
The young leader demanded an impartial probe should be conducted in the allegations, without involving politics.
Bilawal said he did not know much about the panel when asked about the parliamentary committee constituted to investigate Gulalai claims.
On Nawaz Sharif’s travel plan to Lahore via GT Road, PPP chairman said he thought it to be a farewell tour to former Prime Minster.
“It is his right of ex-premier and should be allowed”, Bilawal said when asked about Nawaz Sharif’s proposed GT-Road tour.
