The draft for the 10th edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) in 2025 will be held on January 11, 2025. The 10th edition of the PSL will last for four weeks in April and May next year. There is no news yet regarding the availability of players, however, the PSL draft will focus on those players who were not bid for in the Indian Premier League (IPL). In the current year’s IPL bid, David Warner, Kane Williamson, Aqeel Hussain, Jonny Bairstow, Adil Rashid and Keshav Maharaj were among the players who were not bought by any franchise.
Another reason for holding PSL on the scheduled days of IPL is to include players in the league who are not playing IPL, while international cricket is also limited during IPL. It should be remembered that previous editions of PSL have generally been held between February and March, due to which many big international cricketers did not participate in PSL due to matches of their national teams. The 10th edition of PSL will continue for four weeks in April and May next year. However, for PSL 10, there is still no guarantee that all players will be available for the league.
The England Cricket Board (ECB) had announced that if any T20 league, other than IPL, clashes with the English domestic season, then the board will not issue NOCs to first-class cricketers for it. After this announcement by the ECB, the Professional Cricketers Association (PCA) is in dispute with the English board.
On the other hand, the aim of holding the PSL in April-May next year is to hold the league after the month of Ramadan, as Ramadan in February-March may affect the timing of matches and sponsorship revenue, including PSL advertising during Ramadan, may also be affected.
