Rawalpindi, August 6 (TNS): Forces on Sunday foiled a major possible terror bid at Rawalpindi’s Chaklala Railway Station.
The area escaped a disaster as police recovered arms and explosive material and weapons that were hidden near the station, officials say.
According to officials, the operation was conducted on a tip-off, as forces recovered explosive which was was buried in a sack under a signboard of Railway station.
Chaklala Railway Station was the possible target of the militants, sources quoting officials said.
Police said that among the recovered weapons, there was a machine gun, three other weaponries, bullets and explosive.
The police also seized a suspicious motorbike which was parked nearby.
