Islamabad, Tuesday, 24 December 2024 (TNS): Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif on Tuesday expressed profound sorrow over the tragic loss of 12 lives in an explosion at an explosives manufacturing facility in the Balikesir province of Turkiye.
Using his X handle, the prime minister conveyed his heartfelt condolences to President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and the people of Turkiye.
“Expressing our solidarity with the people of Turkiye, we pray for the bereaved families and wish a swift recovery for the injured,” he posted.
The explosion at the facility in western Balikesir resulted in 12 fatalities and multiple injuries, according to Turkish media reports citing authorities.
Turkish Health Minister Kemal Memisoglu confirmed that five individuals sustained injuries in the incident, which occurred in the Karesi district.
