Islamabad, Wednesday, 22 January 2025 (TNS): Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Deputy Prime Minister Muhammad Ishaq Dar on Wednesday conveyed deep sorrow and solidarity with Indonesia following devastating landslides and flash floods that struck Java Island, claiming multiple lives and leaving several individuals missing.

Expressing his condolences, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif took to his X timeline, stating, “On behalf of the people and the Government of Pakistan, I extend my deepest condolences to President Prabowo Subianto, the families of the victims, and the people of Indonesia during this difficult time.”

The prime minister underscored Pakistan’s unwavering support for the Indonesian government and its people, commending their resilience and courage in responding to the calamity.

Similarly, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Muhammad Ishaq Dar expressed his grief over the tragedy in Central Java. “Deeply saddened by the tragic loss of lives and destruction caused by landslides and flash floods in Central Java, Indonesia. I extend heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families and prayers for those missing,” he wrote on his X timeline.

Dar reiterated Pakistan’s solidarity with Indonesia, emphasizing the strong ties between the two nations and Pakistan’s support during this challenging time.

The tragic landslides and flash floods in Java have left a significant impact, drawing international sympathy and calls for coordinated global efforts to assist Indonesia in its recovery and relief measures.
