Muzaffargarh (TNS): Director South Punjab, Pakistan Bait-ul-Mal (PBM), Rana Ramzan Tahir, chaired a high-level meeting with Assistant Directors from the Regional Office and Field District Offices of South Punjab to discuss future strategies and strengthen welfare initiatives. This meeting marked his first official engagement since assuming office, underscoring his commitment to improving the organization’s outreach and effectiveness in the region.

The meeting also featured a farewell ceremony in honor of the outgoing Director South Punjab, Maher Mazhar Abbas, who was recognized for his dedicated service. During the ceremony, he awarded Appreciation Certificates and Shields to several Assistant Directors in recognition of their outstanding contributions. Among them, Assistant Director Muzaffargarh, Syed Kashif Saleem, was given special recognition for his exceptional performance and dedication.

Discussions during the meeting focused on key challenges and strategies to enhance Pakistan Bait-ul-Mal’s operations in South Punjab. Budgetary concerns were a major highlight, with the region currently operating under a PKR 39 crore financial aid budget. However, due to an increasing number of applications in various categories, including General, Medical, Education, Special Friends, and Cochlear Implants, additional funding has been requested. In this regard, a formal appeal has been made to Chairman Senate, Syed Yousuf Raza Gillani, for an increase in the allocated budget to meet growing demands.

Another critical aspect of the discussion centered on the implementation of policies related to PBM Sweet Homes, Women Empowerment Centers (WEC), Shelter Homes, and the Kafalat Scholarship for Special Students (KSKL). The Director emphasized the importance of ensuring compliance with policy frameworks to maximize the efficiency and effectiveness of these welfare programs. Strengthening collaboration with non-governmental organizations (NGOs)
