Islamabad (TNS): Speaker of the National Assembly, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, along with the Speakers of the Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Azad Jammu & Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan Assemblies, held a meeting with the Bahraini Parliamentary delegation led by the President of the Council of Representatives of Bahrain, Ahmed bin Salman Al-Musallam in Islamabad today.
While Welcoming the Bahraini delegation, Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq emphasized that the purpose of the meeting was to expand the scope of engagement with Bahrain while showcasing Pakistan’s geographical diversity, abundant natural resources, and economic potential. He expressed hope that this interaction would lead to enhanced bilateral cooperation between the two nations.
Speaker of the Provincial Assembly of the Punjab Malik Muhammad Ahmad Khan highlighted Punjab’s significance as Pakistan’s largest agricultural and economic hub. Extending an invitation to the Bahraini delegation to visit Punjab, he underscored the province’s eagerness to strengthen collaboration with Bahrain in agriculture, industry, and trade.
Speaker of Provincial Assembly of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Babar Saleem Swati briefed the delegation on the province’s strategic geographical importance, rich cultural heritage, and vast reserves of minerals, oil, and gas. He invited the Bahraini delegation to explore Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s investment potential firsthand.
Speaker of the Gilgit-Baltistan Assembly, Nazir Ahmed, emphasized the region’s breathtaking natural beauty and its growing reputation as a global tourism destination. He invited the Bahraini delegation to visit Gilgit-Baltistan and experience its scenic landscapes.
Azad Jammu & Kashmir Assembly Speaker Chaudhry Latif Akbar shed light on the Kashmir issue, highlighting the region’s geopolitical significance and the steadfast support it receives from Pakistan. He also spoke about Azad Kashmir’s picturesque valleys and tourist attractions, inviting the Bahraini delegation to visit Muzaffarabad.
In the absence of the Sindh and Balochistan Assembly Speakers, National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq provided insights into the economic and geographical importance of both provinces. He elaborated on Balochistan’s vast reserves of natural gas and minerals, while also highlighting Sindh’s status as Pakistan’s industrial and commercial hub. He encouraged the Bahraini Speaker to include visits to Sindh, Balochistan, and other regions in his future engagements in Pakistan.
Expressing gratitude for the warm hospitality, Bahraini Speaker Ahmed bin Salman Al-Musallam lauded Pakistan’s generosity and warmth. He described Pakistan as a key nation in the Islamic world and stressed the importance of further strengthening the historic and fraternal ties between the two countries.
