ISLAMABAD (TNS) IMF delegation to arrive in Pakistan today for economic review The International Monetary Fund (IMF) delegation will arrive in Pakistan today for talks on the one billion dollar tranche and the economic review talks will continue till March 14. The IMF delegation will arrive in Pakistan today, Monday, March 3, to discuss the next installment of one billion dollars under the $7 billion bailout package. A 9-member delegation of the IMF review mission will visit Pakistan under the leadership of Nathan Porter, while the economic review talks will continue till March 14. According to sources in the Ministry of Finance, the talks will be held in two phases at the technical and policy levels. The delegation will also make suggestions for the budget for the upcoming fiscal year 2025-26. On the other hand, the government has completed preparations for negotiations with the IMF on the loan program and climate financing, and the process of negotiations between the government and the IMF will begin today. The first review negotiations will be held under a $7 billion loan program. On the success of the review, an installment of about $1 billion will be released to Pakistan. In the second phase, policy-level negotiations will be held between Pakistan and the IMF. Pakistan will submit an implementation report on the terms of the $7 billion loan program. Pakistan will submit the first half-year report of the current fiscal year to the IMF. The IMF delegation will meet with officials from the Ministry of Finance, FBR and State Bank. In addition, the IMF delegation will hold negotiations with officials from the Power Division and NEPRA, while the IMF delegation will also meet with provincial officials. In addition, a decision will be made on about $1 billion in climate financing for Pakistan. The government has completed preparations for negotiations with the IMF on the loan program and climate financing.
