PESHAWAR (TNS)– Retired employees of Radio Pakistan have made an urgent appeal to the President and Prime Minister of Pakistan, as well as to the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting and the Radio Pakistan administration, over the prolonged withholding of their pension benefits.
In a collective appeal,by association for the welfare of retired persons the senior pensioners stated that they have been deprived of the 15% pension increase announced in the 2004 fiscal year budget, along with commutation and medical allowances, for the past six years. They emphasized that despite repeated requests, their rightful dues have not been released.
The retirees have demanded the immediate disbursement of the pending commutation and medical allowance, along with the newly announced 15% increase in pension for the year 2024.
“If our long-standing demands are not met,” warned the pensioners, “we will be left with no option but to go on a hunger strike.”
The group urged the government to take immediate action to ensure justice for elderly pensioners who served the nation through Radio Pakistan
