Kashmir (TNS) Kashmiris across the world celebrated Pakistan Accession Day, Pakistan reiterated its support for Kashmiris on Pakistan Accession Day, Pakistan will continue its diplomatic, moral and political support for KashmirisPakistan and Kashmiris’ hearts beat together. Pakistan has always supported the aspirations of Kashmiris and a peaceful resolution of the Kashmir issue in the light of the resolutions of the United Nations Security Council. Pakistan will maintain this support until Kashmiris are given their right to self-determination and their freedom. Remember that the spirit of freedom of Kashmiris is still strong today. This spirit in Kashmiris is the religion of their ancestors who struggled against the Dogra Raj. For the past 7 decades, Kashmiris have been deprived of their right to self-determination, but despite this, Kashmiris continue to strive to achieve this right and no amount of atrocities and oppression could deter them from their resolve. On July 19, 1947, Kashmiris decided to join Pakistan. In a meeting held on July 19, 1947 at the residence of Sardar Muhammad Ibrahim Khan, the real representatives of Kashmir took the historic decision to pass a resolution to join Pakistan.

This decision was taken keeping in mind the aspirations of millions of Kashmiri Muslims of Jammu and Kashmir. Despite Indian oppression and oppression, the Kashmiris of occupied Kashmir are still with Pakistan. President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and other political figures issued special messages on the occasion of Pakistan Accession Day. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said in his message that support for the right of self-determination of the Kashmiris will continue, the story of the eternal sacrifices of the Kashmiris continues even today. With the passage of time, the spirit of freedom of the Kashmiris has increased, the brutality and brutality of one million Indian troops have failed to break the resolve of the Kashmiris. The Prime Minister said that the Kashmir Accession Day is celebrated in memory of the Srinagar session of the All Jammu and Kashmir Muslim Conference, on which the brave people of Kashmir passed a resolution to join Pakistan. The story of the sacrifices of the Kashmiris that began in 1947 continues even today, the third generation of Kashmiris is as determined as their ancestors for the right of self-determination. President of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari said in his message that the Accession Day is the natural separation of the Kashmiris from Pakistan. It is a symbol of relationship, the struggle of the Kashmiri people will not go in vain. Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi said that on Kashmir Accession Day, we salute the martyrs who considered the ideological relationship with Pakistan dearer than life. He said that Kashmir Accession Day is a bright dawn of history, Kashmiris made a decision that could not be erased even in the dust of time, the fog of oppression and the echo of guns, Pakistan will continue to provide diplomatic, moral and political support to its brothers. Prime Minister of Azad Kashmir Chaudhry Anwarul Haq said in his message that love for Pakistan runs like blood in the bodies of Kashmiris. Chief Minister of Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif paid tribute to the sacrifices of Kashmiris in her message. Vice President PPP Senator Sherry Rehman said that Pakistan will continue to raise its voice for Kashmiris at international forums. Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit-Baltistan Engineer Amir Muqam saluted the spirit of Kashmiris. Mishal Malik, wife of Hurriyat leader Yasin Malik, said that today is a day of solidarity towards the Kashmiri nation. It is a day of commitment, hope, trust and love with Pakistan. Although India has been under oppressive occupation in occupied Kashmir for more than 7 decades, India’s unilateral action on August 5, 2019 added a brutal chapter to the violent history of Kashmir. The Indian government illegally annexed the state of Jammu and Kashmir, divided it and merged it into the Indian Union. This is a clear violation of the United Nations Security Council resolutions. There are 11 such resolutions on Kashmir. In particular, it was a violation of Security Council Resolution 38, which clearly states in paragraph 2 that no party to the conflict can bring about any material change in the situation in Kashmir. Kashmir is under a prolonged lockdown with communication systems shut down, military siege tightened, public gatherings banned, media silenced and Kashmiri leaders, including pro-India politicians, imprisoned to prevent a popular uprising against this move that deprived the Kashmiri people of their rights. The BJP government has taken various administrative, demographic and electoral measures to disempower Kashmiris, deprive them of their voting rights and change the Muslim identity of Kashmir. The Pakistani government has been constantly highlighting the Kashmir issue and India’s human rights violations to the world. Not unaware of the Kashmiri occupying power’s intentions to change the population, India first used this strategy during the partition of the subcontinent. In November 1947, the Maharaja’s Dogra forces and RSS-inspired rioters massacred about 300,000 Kashmiri Muslims in Jammu. The genocide resulted in the forced displacement of about 10 lakh Muslims from Jammu. This genocide was state-sponsored and was an attempt to change the population ratio of Jammu. The Muslim population in Jammu was more than 60 percent and thus they were in the majority there, but as a result of this massacre and forced eviction, the Muslim population in Jammu became a minority. The Delimitation Commission of India announced a plan for new electoral delimitations in May 2022, aimed at giving Jammu more representation and tilting the political balance in the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly in favour of Hindus. Muslims constitute more than 68% of the population of Jammu and Kashmir, while Hindus are around 28% according to the 2011 census. The BJP government wants to convert the Muslim majority into a minority through the delimitation plan. New domicile laws introduced by India have also attempted to change the demographics. More than 3.4 million so-called domicile certificates have been issued to non-Kashmiris. These people became eligible for domicile after the abrogation of Articles 370 and 35A of the Indian Constitution in 2019. In July 2022, the Chief Election Officer in the occupied valley announced that any Indian citizen, even temporary residents, would be given the right to vote in Kashmir. This would add about 2.5 million additional voters, including non-locals, to the electoral rolls and increase the total number of voters by 30%. Like the delimitation plan, the announcement has also sparked anger and resentment in Kashmir. Leaders of the all-party Hurriyat Conference strongly condemned it, as did former chief ministers and politicians, traditionally pro-India. Farooq Abdullah’s party, the National Conference, said that “the inclusion of non-locals is a clear ploy to disenfranchise the people of Jammu and Kashmir.”

But none of these could stop the Modi government’s actions. Love for Pakistan runs in the blood of Kashmiris. Accession Day is a symbol of the natural bond of Kashmiris with Pakistan. The struggle of the Kashmiri people will not go in vain. The BJP authorities seized the Jammu and Kashmir Waqf Board and all its properties across the region. Thus began efforts to gain control of all important religious places of Muslims, including shrines, in the occupied valley. Religious leaders and Islamic scholars were arrested and prayers were banned in mosques throughout occupied Kashmir. Jamaat-e-Islami was banned in Kashmir in 2019. Under the guise of a crackdown, the authorities have seized property worth crores of rupees. This includes the house that was once used by Hurriyat leader Syed Ali Geelani. Syed Ali Geelani died in 2021 and India did not even allow his formal funeral. The BJP’s attacks on Kashmiri culture also include the elimination of the status of Urdu. For over 100 years, Urdu was the official language of Jammu and Kashmir, but in 2020, Urdu’s special status was abolished through legislation that made Hindi, Kashmiri and Dogri the official languages of Jammu and Kashmir, in addition to Urdu and English. Now, efforts are underway to change the script of the Kashmiri language from Nastaliq to Devanagari. But none of these initiatives have caught the attention of the international community. Yes, international human rights organizations have condemned the media restrictions in Kashmir, the arrest of journalists under sedition and anti-terrorism laws, and the climate of fear created by the media policy. Human Rights Watch condemned the severe crackdown on independent media and raised its voice against “harassment, threats and attacks on journalists and human rights activists” in Kashmir. Amnesty International detailed the restrictions on the media and widespread restrictions on freedom of expression, noting that the Kashmir Press Club has been closed. The BJP government aims to ‘legitimize’ the August 2019 move and enable itself to claim that the situation in Jammu and Kashmir is ‘normal’. But efforts to persuade pro-India Kashmiri leaders to support the plan have also failed. India’s policies of coercion and deception have long failed in Kashmir, further alienating the people and strengthening their resistance.India has unilaterally and illegally revoked Articles 370 and 35A against the wishes of the Kashmiri people. Although Pakistan has never recognized the implementation of any article of the Indian Constitution in occupied Kashmir, the revocation of Articles 370 and 35A has resulted in a material change in the ground situation, which is a clear violation of bilateral agreements and international resolutions. To prevent large-scale resistance against these harsh measures, the Indian occupation forces have turned occupied Kashmir into a prison that has no parallel in the world. Today, there is one Indian soldier deployed in Kashmir for every 8 Kashmiris. Thousands of political leaders, teachers, social workers, journalists and students are imprisoned in jails across India under false charges. The condition of several Hurriyat leaders is alarming. These measures show that the political policies and actions of the BJP government, which are based on Hindutva ideology, are not only a threat to the political identity of Kashmiris, but they are also a threat to the peace of the region and the global order based on the values of freedom and choice. Under the BJP government, India wants to change the status quo through the use of force and military adventurism. To divert attention from the human tragedy unfolding in occupied Jammu and Kashmir, India is sponsoring terrorism in Pakistan, while on the other hand, it has launched a propaganda campaign to defame Pakistan globally. All these things are mentioned in the dossier prepared by Pakistan on terrorism sponsored by India. The internationally renowned European Union Disinfo Lab has revealed Indian efforts to mislead the UN system and the European Union Parliament by using fake NGOs and fake news websites to defame Pakistan. Recently, a senior Indian official admitted that India politically influenced the FATF to keep Pakistan on the grey list. This situation raises some important questions about Pakistan and the region. The struggle in Kashmir is the struggle of real Kashmiris and it will always have public support against the Indian occupation forces. Kashmiris will continue their struggle against Indian occupation until they get their political rights. Pakistan will continue to shake the conscience of the international community with the atrocities committed against Kashmiris. The Kashmir issue exists as an unfulfilled promise before the global conscience. The day is not far when Kashmiris will be free from Indian oppression and tyranny, Insha Allah. And this is the message of Pakistan Accession Day, Kashmir Day.
