ISLAMABAD – July 24, 2025 (TNS):The National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA), which was established on April 4, 2025, has achieved remarkable achievements in a short period of time. According to Deputy Director Operations Mr. Muhammad Usman, 50,563 cyber crime complaints were received during April-July 2025.
Out of these:
Formal investigation was initiated on 7,247 complaints
FIRs were registered in 457 cases
690 persons were arrested
Courts awarded sentences in 22 cases
According to the Deputy Director Operations, vigorous operations were also carried out under “Operation Grey” against foreign elements, who were involved in cyber crimes under the guise of foreign call centers. Recoveries worth crores of rupees were made during these operations.
Financial fraud, blackmailing, harassment, and hacking topped the list of complaints received.14 circles are playing their role effectively, and investigations are being further accelerated with the help of modern technology and trained staff.
The public is appealed to immediately report cyber crimes to the relevant circle or helpline so that timely action can be taken.
Measures will be further intensified for public awareness and protection.
