Islamabad (TNS) An emergency meeting of the Federal Health Alliance was held at PIMS Hospital under the chairmanship of Kaleemullah, where representatives of various government health institutions of the capital participated.

Participants included Rab Nawaz, Shahid Khattak, and Amjad Mehmood from PIMS; Chaudhry Hakim, Naseer Aqeel and team from NIH; Rana Sajjad and his members from FGH; Haroon, Kashif Raza, and Muhammad Arshad from Polyclinic; Shabbir Tanoli from CDA; and Imtiaz Khan and Shoaib from DHO office.

The meeting expressed deep concern over the lack of any progress on the restoration of the health allowance despite the deadline given to the government having expired. All representatives unanimously agreed to continue with the earlier announced protest plan under the banner of the Federal Health Alliance.

However, keeping in view the care and treatment of patients, it was also decided that a final attempt will be made to meet with the Minister of Health and Secretary Health to express the disappointment and demands of healthcare employees.

Dr. Muhammad Yousaf was unanimously appointed as the Patron-in-Chief of the alliance. Members expressed full confidence in his leadership and ability to unify all institutions under one platform.

It was further decided that the next meeting will be held on Thursday at Polyclinic Hospital under the chairmanship of Dr. Yousaf, during which the status of negotiations will be reviewed and a final date for the protest will be announced.

After the meeting, a delegation met with the Federal Health Minister, who assured full cooperation and practical steps towards resolving the issue and stated:

> “Trust me, I will get this done.”
