Traffic Management Issues Highlighted by City Nazim Zero Tolerance Policy Announced for Corruption and Negligence RPO Inspects Fateh Jang and Qutbal Police Stations Regional Police Officer (RPO) Rawalpindi Region, Syed Khalid Hamdani, soon after assuming charge, held a well-attended Khuli Katchery (open court) at the TMA Hall, Fateh Jang, reaffirming his commitment to the prompt redress of public grievances, transparent policing and indiscriminate accountability. District Police Officer (DPO) Attock, Sardar Morahen Khan, accompanied him on the occasion.
Upon his arrival in Fateh Jang, the RPO was accorded a warm reception by Tehsildar Fateh Jang, Chaudhry Shafqat Mahmood, who welcomed him on behalf of the local administration.
Addressing the open court, Syed Khalid Hamdani stated that the protection of life and property and the maintenance of law and order were the foremost responsibilities of the police, adding that negligence, inefficiency or laxity would not be tolerated under any circumstances.
The open court was attended by DPO Attock Sardar Morahen Khan, SP Headquarters Sardar Babar Mumtaz Khan, SP Investigation Zainab Ayub, Tehsildar Chaudhry Shafqat Mahmood, SHOs and inspectors from across the district, local notables, journalists and a large number of citizens. A significant number of women also participated in the Khuli Katchery and presented their complaints directly to the RPO.
During the proceedings, former chairman Haji Azam Paswal announced the provision of security cameras to further enhance public safety in Fateh Jang city, while City Nazim Malik Khalid highlighted the need for improved traffic management. The RPO said that the objective of holding open courts was to ensure direct access to justice and the swift, transparent and lawful resolution of public grievances. He personally heard complaints and issued on-the-spot directives to the concerned officers.
Syed Khalid Hamdani directed police officers to take public complaints seriously and ensure their resolution within stipulated timelines. He warned that strict, across-the-board action would be taken against any official found involved in the misuse of authority, negligence or corruption. He emphasised that building public trust in the police was the need of the hour, achievable only through integrity, transparency and professionalism.
Later, the RPO Rawalpindi, along with DPO Attock Sardar Morahen Khan, SP Investigation Zainab Ayub and SP Headquarters Sardar Babar Mumtaz Khan, visited Fateh Jang Police Station and Qutbal Police Station (New Airport). He inspected front desks, lock-ups, record rooms and offices, and issued immediate instructions for improved cleanliness, discipline and record management.
The RPO instructed police staff that every citizen visiting a police station must be treated with dignity, respect and courtesy. He stressed that the prompt and lawful resolution of citizens’ issues must be ensured, while any form of misconduct or unprofessional behaviour would not be tolerated. He reiterated that police stations are centres of public service and facilitation, not symbols of authority or intimidation.
