ISLAMABAD (TNS) The government of Pakistan has allowed the Pakistan cricket team to participate in the upcoming T20 World Cup, however, it has been decided that the national team will not play the scheduled match against India on February 15. This decision has been formally announced by the Pakistan Cricket Board. According to the Pakistan Cricket Board, this decision has been taken keeping in mind the instructions of the government of Pakistan and national policy. The PCB has made it clear that the national team will participate in all other matches of the World Cup and Pakistan will continue to be represented in the tournament, however, the decision to withdraw from the match against India is final. The PCB says that the International Cricket Council (ICC) and the tournament administration are being formally informed about this decision, while the future course of action on the matter will be decided under ICC rules. This announcement has created a stir in the ICC and international cricket circles. After this tough decision by Pakistan, maintaining the tournament schedule has become a big challenge for the ICC. According to experts, if Pakistan sticks to its decision, it could deal a serious blow to the event’s ratings and commercial revenue.
Officials have made it clear that Pakistan is now committed to playing cricket on a level playing field and that one-sided attitudes will no longer be tolerated. The Pakistan team will prepare vigorously for the World Cup but will not take the field against India.
