Islamabad (TNS) Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad, Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi chaired important meetings at the Central Police Office Islamabad and the SP Rural zone office to review the overall law and order situation and security arrangements in the federal capital.The meetings were attended by DIG Islamabad Muhammad Jawad Tariq, AIG Operations Shoaib Masood, AIG Special Branch Muhammad Sarfraz Virk, SSP CTD Arsalan Shahzeb, CTO Islamabad Hamzah Humayun, zonal SPs, and other senior police officers.During the meeting, IGP Islamabad conducted a detailed review of the security measures in place and directed all senior officers to utilize all available resources to further strengthen and make the security of the federal capital foolproof. He emphasized effectively countering potential terrorism threats, further tightening security at sensitive locations, and enhancing intelligence-sharing mechanisms among law enforcement agencies. He stated that timely dissemination of advanced intelligence and mutual coordination form the foundation of an effective counter-terrorism strategy.Later, the IGP Islamabad held a meeting with the CTO Islamabad and the Safe City IT team to review the modernization of digital services in line with contemporary requirements and the provision of online facilities through mobile applications. He was briefed on traffic management, the e-challan system, licensing services, and other online platforms. He also directed that all digital services of Islamabad Police, particularly those of the Traffic Police, be upgraded to ensure effective and transparent use of mobile applications, keeping citizens’ convenience in view. He stressed leveraging modern technology to ensure prompt and effective resolution of public issues, enabling citizens to access traffic, driving license, and other related services from home. At the SP Rural Zone Office, the IGP Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi received briefings from zonal SPs regarding crime situations and performance in their respective areas. He directed officers to accelerate search and combing operations to eradicate crime, ensure prompt investigation of serious cases, timely submission of challans, strict monitoring of suspicious activities, and effective action against proclaimed and habitual offenders.He also emphasized an indiscriminate crackdown against extremist elements and ensuring foolproof security of sensitive installations, including religious places of worship.Additionally, the IGP Islamabad held an open court at the Central Police Office under the “Open Door Policy.” He listened to the complaints of citizens and police officers and issued on-the-spot orders on several matters. He directed officers to resolve public complaints on merit, with transparency and prompt action. The IGP Islamabad reaffirmed that the police are always
available to serve the public.
