Islamabad (TNS) GP reviews security and traffic arrangements for Ramadan
According to the details, a high level meeting was held at the Central Police Office Islamabad under the chairmanship of IGP Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi. The meeting conducted a detailed review of comprehensive security, law and order, and traffic management arrangements in the federal capital during Ramadan.The meeting was attended by DIG Islamabad Muhammad Jawad Tariq, DIG Headquarters Malik Jamil Zafar, AIG Operations Shoaib Masood, SSPs, and other senior police officers. During the meeting, IGP Islamabad was briefed on Ramadan security measures and special traffic arrangements.During the meeting, he directed all officers to ensure their presence in the field and to properly brief the officers on duty. He emphasized that foolproof security arrangements should be maintained at masjids, imambargahs, Ramadan bazaars, shopping centers, and public places. Special patrolling should be ensured during Fajr prayers, Iftar, and Taraweeh timings, with officers personally reviewing onsite security measures. He instructed that checks at city entry and exit points should be made more effective, and suspicious individuals and vehicles should be closely monitored. He further directed that search and combing operations continue consistently and that indiscriminate action be taken against criminal elements. Maximum use of modern technology, including Safe City surveillance cameras, was emphasized to ensure 24 hour monitoring and immediate response to any suspicious activity.He also instructed strict implementation of special traffic plans during peak hours before Iftar. Additional police officers and personnel should be deployed along major roads and near commercial centers to maintain smooth traffic flow. Citizens should be assisted through guidance, alternate routes, and timely traffic updates.IGP Islamabad reiterated that the primary priority of Islamabad Police is the protection of lives and property, maintenance of sustainable peace in the federal capital, and providing timely, efficient, and dignified services to the public. He stated that the police force is committed to fulfilling the public trust and that providing citizens with a safe and secure environment during the holy month of Ramadan is a shared responsibility
