Islamabad (TNS) Police conducted 685 search and combing operations during the first four months of 2026،،Following the special directives of Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad, Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, Islamabad Police intensified search and combing operations across various areas of the federal capital to curb crime and crack down on criminal elements.These large-scale operations were carried out under the supervision of SSP Operations Islamabad, Qazi Ali Raza, and were monitored by the respective zonal SPs.During these operations, a total of 65,581 individuals, 28,603 households, 2,596 hotels, 7,688 shops, 22,595 motorcycles, and 8,034 vehicles were thoroughly checked. Additionally, 370 Afghan nationals, 3,348 suspicious individuals, 2,025 motorcycles, and 113 vehicles were taken to police stations for further verification.Moreover, suspects involved in drug trafficking and illegal possession of weapons were arrested. Authorities recovered seven kilograms of hashish, six kilograms of heroin, five kilograms of ice, 87 bottles of alcohol, six daggers, 12 Kalashnikovs, 11 rifles, 68 pistols, and 3,334 rounds of ammunition from their possession.SSP Operations Islamabad, stated that the objective of these operations is to tighten the noose around criminal elements and further enhance security across the city. He added that such operations are being conducted in different areas throughout the district, and Islamabad Police will continue indiscriminate action against criminal elements, land grabbers, and drug dealers.
