Islamabad (TNS) Police ensure robust security arrangements for 11th Muharram processions at Bari Imam and Shah Allah Ditta According to the details, following the special directives of Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, Islamabad Police made comprehensive security arrangements for the processions held on the 11th of Muharram at Bari Imam and Shah Allah Ditta, while also ensuring the smooth flow of traffic through an effective traffic management plan.More than 2,500 officers and officials from Islamabad Police and other law enforcement agencies performed security duties on this occasion, while officers of Islamabad Traffic Police played a vital role in maintaining the smooth flow of traffic۔Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Police Islamabad, Muhammad Jawad Tariq, accompanied by SSP Operations Islamabad Qazi Ali Raza, SSP Security Operations Salman Zafar, zonal SPs, and other police officers, reviewed all security arrangements.On this occasion, he stated that Islamabad Police remain fully committed to maintaining law and order and protecting the lives and property of citizens during Muharram-ul-Haram. He added that all possible measures are being taken to promote inter-sect harmony, religious tolerance, and brotherhood during the holy month.He further said that, in line with the vision of IGP Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, a peaceful environment and foolproof security would be ensured throughout Muharram-ul-Haram. He directed all officers to remain vigilant during processions and religious gatherings and to strictly enforce all security SOPs.Multi-layered security arrangements were provided for the processions held in the federal capital on the 11th of Muharram. Sniper commandos were deployed on rooftops along the procession routes, while the operation of private drones in procession areas was prohibited.Furthermore, specialized units of Islamabad Police, including SWAT Commandos, Delta Force, Red Zone Commandos, APC Units, CTD, district police, and Rangers contingents, were deployed at the front and rear of the processions. Lady police officers and female volunteers were also deployed to conduct the screening of women participants.Special entry routes were designated for pedestrians participating in the processions, where a heavy police presence was maintained. Special scanners were installed at entry points to ensure effective screening, and no individual was allowed entry without passing through the designated routes and security checks.Traffic flow was also effectively maintained throughout the processions to ensure that commuters did not face any inconvenience during their travel. Due to the effective arrangements made by Islamabad Traffic Police, traffic movement across the federal capital remained smooth and uninterrupted. In addition, an alternative traffic plan was implemented, and parking of vehicles around the procession routes was strictly prohibited.DIG Islamabad appreciated the cooperation of Islamabad Police, Rangers, district administration, peace committees, organizers of processions and religious gatherings, and the citizens. He stated that, as a result of these collective efforts, exemplary law and order were maintained throughout the federal capital.
