Islamabad (TNS) IGP reviews security measures, orders enhanced field vigilance and modern trainingInspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, chaired a high-level meeting attended by DIG Headquarters Muhammad Ateeque Tahir, AIG Operations Saud Khan, and other senior police officers.The meeting reviewed in detail the overall law and order situation in the federal capital, security arrangements, professional training of police officers and personnel, crime prevention strategies, operational planning, promotion of modern policing, and measures to enhance the delivery of effective policing services to citizens.Speaking on the occasion, the IGP Islamabad emphasized that the protection of the lives and property of citizens remains the foremost responsibility of Police. He directed all concerned officers to further strengthen and streamline security arrangements across the city, ensure continuous monitoring of sensitive locations, and maintain a high level of vigilance in the field. He instructed all officers and personnel to remain proactive, alert, and fully prepared to discharge their professional responsibilities at all times. The IGP Islamabad further stated that modern, need based training is essential to enable police officers to effectively respond to evolving security challenges. He directed that training programs be further enhanced, made more practical, and aligned with contemporary policing standards to ensure the force is fully equipped to handle all types of situations professionally and efficiently.He also instructed that patrolling, snap-checking, intelligence based operations, and the police rapid response mechanism be further strengthened. Stressing the importance of public service, he directed officers to ensure courteous public dealing, impartial enforcement of the law, and prompt delivery of justice, thereby reinforcing public confidence in the police.During the meeting, participants also held detailed discussions on improving the overall policing system, strengthening coordination among various police units, promoting the use of modern technology, and adopting a comprehensive strategy for crime prevention.The IGP Islamabad directed all senior officers to ensure the immediate and effective implementation of the instructions issued during the session. He reaffirmed Islamabad Police commitment to utilizing all available resources to provide a safe and secure environment for the residents of the federal capital, maintain law and order, and deliver professional, efficient, and citizen centric policing.
