ISLAMABAD: September 17, 2025 (TNS): Chairman Capital Development Authority (CDA) conducted a detailed field visit to review the updated position and progress of ongoing development projects in Islamabad. During the visit, Member Building, Member Environment, DG Works, DG Infrastructure and other senior officer of CDA were present. The Chairman CDA inspected various project sites and reviewed the pace of work, quality of construction, implementation timelines and overall progress of the development schemes.
The concerned officers, project directors, engineers, consultants and representatives of the executing agencies briefed the Chairman CDA regarding the current status of ongoing projects, work completed so far, activities in progress, timelines and issues, if any, affecting project implementation.
Chairman CDA directed all concerned formations to ensure that all development projects are completed within the approved timelines while strictly maintaining the required quality, engineering standards and approved specifications.
Focus on Timely Completion and Quality
Chairman CDA emphasized that timely completion of development projects is essential to provide maximum benefit to the citizens. He directed the concerned officers and executing agencies to accelerate ongoing works and ensure that all project components are completed in a coordinated and systematic manner.
The Chairman made it clear that acceleration of work must not compromise quality. All construction activities must strictly conform to approved designs, technical specifications, engineering standards and quality control requirements.
He directed the concerned formations to undertake regular inspections and ensure effective supervision at every stage of project execution. Contractors and executing agencies were also directed to strictly comply with the approved specifications and contractual obligations.
Review of Ongoing Infrastructure Development
During the field visit, the Chairman CDA reviewed the updated position of various ongoing development schemes, particularly infrastructure projects aimed at improving connectivity, mobility and the overall urban environment of Islamabad.
The progress of road construction and rehabilitation works, bridges, underpasses, drainage systems, pedestrian facilities, landscaping and other allied infrastructure projects was reviewed.
Chairman CDA directed the concerned officers to closely monitor the progress of each project and immediately address any technical, administrative or operational bottlenecks that could affect the approved timelines.
He further directed that different CDA formations, consultants and contractors maintain close coordination to ensure smooth execution of projects and avoid unnecessary delays.

The construction material and debris be removed promptly and that cleanliness around project sites and adjoining roads be maintained.
Strict Monitoring of Development Projects
Chairman CDA directed all concerned Members, senior officers and project directors to personally monitor the progress of ongoing development schemes and conduct regular site inspections. All concerned officers to proactively resolve issues and ensure that projects remain on schedule. The concerned formations to maintain effective coordination so that different components of development projects are completed simultaneously and become operational for the public without unnecessary delay.
The development progress of development projects be regularly reviewed at the appropriate level and that any issue requiring administrative or technical intervention be brought forward immediately for resolution.
