People chant slogans against Abid Sher Ali

GUJRANWALA, Aug. 12 (TNS): Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz (PML-N) leader Abid Sher Ali seemed to be in an odd situation when certain negative slogans were raised during the homecoming rally on the GT Road. The slogans were raised near the cavalcade of ousted prime minister Nawaz Sharif, en route from Islamabad to Lahore.

The ex-PM’s nephew and state minister Abid Sher Ali climbed the roof of his vehicle to answer to the cheering crowds of party supporters. He seemed more charged than the first day when the rally was coming from Rawalpindi to Gujranwala.

However, the situation changed as several people starting raising slogans of ‘Chor Aya, Chor Aya’ (Here come the thief).

“Abid Sher Ali is here. He is biggest thief,” said an unidentified voice from the crowd. This was followed by repeated slogans of ‘Chor Aya, Chor Aya’.

It seemed that Abid Sher Ali may have escaped the sloganeering against him, but certainly not the embarrassment.
