ISLAMABAD Aug 15 (TNS): Former prime minister Nawaz Sharif has filed an appeal in the Supreme Court of Pakistan for reviewing the historic Panamagate verdict which had deposed him.

The landmark order had disqualified Nawaz for hiding his assets and UAE’s Iqama on which he had to receive a payment.

Advocate Khuwaja Haris on behalf of Sharif filed three applications. In his application Nawaz requested the Supreme Court to review its judgment. He submitted that he had not concealed the documents in his nomination papers for the 2013 polls, the reason for which the court had disqualified him terming him not honest and trustworthy.

He mentioned in the application that under Article 188 of the Constitution, he cannot be disqualified without a trial.
