KARACHI, Aug 17 (TNS): Pak Sarzameen Party (PSP) Chairperson Mustafa Kamal on Thursday lashed out at Muttahida Qaumi Movement-London (MQM) founder Altaf Hussain for asking his followers to celebrate Pakistan Independence Day as Black Day but the Urdu-speaking people paid no attention to it. Instead, the Independence Day was marked with fervor.
During a press conference in Karachi, Kamal accused MQM-London chief of torching the national flag and sending the videos to Indian channels and placing the videos and photographs on social media.
Mustafa Kamal said Mohajirs in Karachi, Hyderabad, Sukkur, Mirpur Khas and other places did not pay any heed to the call of Altaf Hussain, whom he described as RAW agent.
He said that the filthy act was committed in the name of Muhajirs. However; they have now finally parted ways with the MQM-London chief after 30 years, added the PSP leader. He asserted that if anyone wishes to be in politics, he should leave Muttahida and form a new party.
“Indian channels were provided with photographs and videos of Altaf supporters in London and other countries burning the Pakistani flag. These images serve no purpose other than promoting propaganda” he added.
“As an Urdu-speaking man, I am quite proud of my identity. I am so proud that after 30 years of supporting MQM and its chief, Altaf Hussain, the Muhajir community no longer supports the party.”
In the last 30 years, members of Muhajir community voted for MQM nine times, donated hides worth billions of rupees to the party, gave the party zakat. But, now the community does not blindly follow the orders of Altaf Hussain, he remarked.
“For a long time, Altaf was considered the voice of the Muhajir community. Whatever he said, was believed to be the voice of Muhajir community and strikes were observed on his call.” However, now the community no longer wants to be affiliated with him, he said, adding that people have realized that Altaf Hussain is different from the Urdu-speaking community. He said they exposed the real face of Altaf Hussain and people have stopped casting vote for his supporters.
