ISLAMABAD Aug. 18 (TNS): (August 18, 2017): Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf has demanded constitution of new election commission and its freedom from all kind of influence during the national assembly session.
The NA session under the chair of speaker has held symbolic silence of one minute in solidarity with the victims of Barcelona terrorism incident, in which terrorists ploughed car in shoppers that killed 14 people and injured 32.
Later, law minister Zahid Hamid suspended the routine agenda electoral amendments came under discussion. Taking part in the discussion, PPP Naveed Qamar opposing ban to provision of transport to bring the voters polling stations said that it would cause the decrease in voting turnover.
PTI’s Shireen Mazari said election commission apparently failed to make sure availability of electronic machines for next election. “We have reservation over the election bill 2017, therefore we demanded the free and fair election commission,” she said.
JI Sahibzaca Tariqullah said deprivation of overseas Pakistanis from vote was the failure of parliament.
Later NA session adjourned till tomorrow 3pm.
