DI Khan Aug. 19 (TNS): A local leader of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUF) leader and religious scholar Maulana Attaullah Shah was gunned down by unknown armed attacker near Bannu Ada in Dera Ismail Khan.
As per details, when Maulana Attaullah came out of Masjid Aisha Siddiuqa after offering Fajr prayer, the attackers waiting for him opened indiscriminate fire. As a result he died on the spot.
The attackers managed to flee after committing the crime. Police rushed to the site after being informed about the incident.
Police cordoned off the area and started search for arrest of the attackers. The body was shifted to a local hospital for medico legal formalities.
The slain cleric was an office-bearer of JUI-F. After getting news of his murder, scores of JUI-F activists converged at the hospital.
