Riyadh, August 22 (TNS): Saudi Arabia’s Supreme Court on Monday announced that Zilhaj moon was not sighted anywhere in the country, Eidul Azha will be celebrated in all Gulf countries on September 1.
According to a tweet by the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), the court will hold another meeting on Tuesday to issue a decision regarding the moon.
The tweet which was in Arabic read:
“#SupremeCourt : The view of Hilal al- Dhajja is not proven tonight, and the court will hold a hearing tomorrow evening and issue a decision to prove it. #SPA”.
The sighting of Zilhaj crescent will decide the Waqoof-e-Arafat, the climax of Hajj pilgrimage, and subsequently the Eidul Azha.
Meanwhile, the central moon-sighting committee of Pakistan will be meeting to sight the Zilhaj moon (today) Tuesday.
