Islamabad, August 24 (TNS): The Senate was informed that ninety-five billion rupees were allocated to the Ministry of Railways for development and non-development expenditures during the last fiscal year.
Replying to a question during the question hour, Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Marriyum Aurangzeb said twenty six billion rupees were allocated for development projects while sixty-nine billion rupees were earmarked for non-development projects.
Replying to a question, Marriyum Aurangzeb said that during the last fiscal year an amount of about 391 million rupees was allocated for thirty-four public sector development programme projects of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting.
Members of the Senate on Thursday strongly denounced the statement made by US President Donald Trump about Pakistan and said the whole nation is on one page against the US new policy.
They were speaking on a motion regarding the US President’s new strategy for South Asia and Afghanistan and remarks about Pakistan. They said Pakistan is a strong and valient nation and Pakistanis know well how to defend their motherland. Senators said a national narrative against terrorism should be formulated in consultation with all the stakeholders and the parliament.
They said foreign policy should be reviewed keeping in view the national interests.
Some members were of the view that US Ambassador should be summoned to Foreign Office and a demarche be issued on the US statement.
