Section-144 imposed for two months

ISLAMABAD, Aug 25 (TNS): District Magistrate Islamabad Capital Territory Capt (R) Mushtaq Ahmed has imposed Section 144 of Cr. PC 1898 in the city for two months.

As per order, the Magistrate has prohibited carrying of firearms, digging stones through blasting, stock/sale/purchase and use of crackers and fireworks, use of loudspeakers and sound amplifiers, distribution of hand bills and pamphlets besides wall chalking, use of cassette players and CD/DVD players for sectarian speeches, publication of any such housing scheme or sale of plot in Islamabad Capital Territory under the Section.

According to a press note issued here on Friday, this order shall come into force with immediate effect and remain in force for a period of two months. Notwithstanding the expiry of this order, everything done, action taken, obligation, liability, penalty or punishment incurred, investigations, enquiry or proceedings pending against offenders in the Court of Magistrates having powers under the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1898 and punishment in respect of this order shall be continued or launched as if this order has not expired.
