SUKKUR Aug 25 (TNS): PTI chief Imran Khan lashed out at PPP co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari saying that former president has looted Sindh’s wealth.
“The money that was supposed to be spent on your [Sindh’s] education, water, law and security was looted,” he said, addressing charged supporters at Sukkur.
“You have to fight the people who looted your money”, Khan said adding that “I promise you, soon you will hear Zardari asking ‘why was I disqualified'”.
“We cannot succeed until we bring ‘big dacoits’ to justice,” remarked the PTI chief.
Imran said that he had been caught up for the last year-and-a-half in the Panama Papers case hence he could not visit Sindh but vowed “Now, I will pay a visit to each and every city of Sindh”.
“Very soon, another pharoah in Sindh will ask why he was dismissed,” said Imran.
Imran Khan also slammed former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, alleging that the PML-N chief had not uttered one single word against Donald Trump, after the American president had made an incendiary speech against Pakistan.
“Nawaz is silent regarding Trump because his wealth is also abroad,” he said. “I urge each and every one of you not to vote for anyone whose wealth is not in Pakistan,” he added.
Khan alleged that Nawaz Sharif was playing a dangerous game for the sake of his personal wealth. Imran stated that Nawaz Sharif was afraid his assets would be sealed if he went to jail.
“The whole country stands behind the Supreme Court and Pakistan Army,” he said. “No institution is left in Pakistan except for these two,” he added.
Imran said that if a country’s institutions were strong and on the right track then even bombardment couldn’t destroy that nation.
Earlier addressing to rally, PTI leader Shah Mehmood Qureshi said that people of Sindh have been extremely resilient.
The PPP has failed to apprehend the murderers of Benazir Bhutto, he said.
“Today’s rally seeks to give a new direction to the politics in Sindh,” he remarked. “People of Sindh have always supported Pakistan.”
“Zardari, pay attention! We are here now. We will go to all districts of Sindh to bring about tabdeeli[change],” said Shah Mehmood Qureshi.
