LAHORE Aug. 26 (TNS): The minister for trade and PML-N leader Pervez Malik has filed the petition seeking null and void of Election Commission code of conduct orders for NA-120.
In his petition he claimed that the ECP’s notification to stop parliamentarians and public figures take part in election campaign of NA-120 is unconstitutional and against the basic human rights.
“The ECP ban comprises of hypothetical basis and against the facts as the political workers can’t be stopped to run election campaign on basis of hypothesis,” he said in his plea adding that public leader did not come under the service of Pakistan law.
He has the stance that EC can mention the guideline for transparency, however can’t halt political activities. “Therefore ECP should declare its August 1 notification null and void,” he requested.
