Govt focusing on infrastructure expanding to boost economy: PM

Islamabad, August 27 (TNS): Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi says the government has focused on expanding infrastructure, including road network and power projects that are a pre-requisite for a robust economy, state media reported on Sunday.

Talking to a delegation of prominent businessmen led by Muhammad Ali Tabba in Karachi, he said China-Pakistan Economic Corridor projects are the lifeline of the country and business community should take full advantage of them.

The Prime Minister called for expanding the tax base in the country to boost the national economy.

He said PML-N government has already started the reforms process to facilitate ease of doing business in the country.

Shahid Khaqan Abbasi emphasized that interactions between the government and the business community need to be more frequent.
