Dr Umar Saif survives sniper attack

LAHORE Aug. 29 (TNS):  The office of Member Punjab provincial cabinet for the Information Technology division, Dr Umar Saif has reportedly been targeted by snipers. No damage to any person has been caused and Dr Umar Saif is currently not in the country.

Dr Umar Saif, who is in Dubai at the moment, is an MIT graduate that has been serving the Punjab government for some time, and leads such projects as Plan9, PlanX and Tech Hubb Connect.

The news was broken by General Manger Punjab Information Technology Board, Burhan Rasool, that posted a number of chilling images on his Facebook account, saying the sniper’s “bullet shells landed a few inches away from Dr Umar Saif’s chair.”

Dr Umar Saif himself was quick to tweet out and give a short explanation saying he was safe and thanking everyone for their prayers.
