RAWALPINDI Aug. 31 (TNS):  In a major breakthrough in fight against terrorism, two key militants among 12 affiliated with Baloch Republican Army (BRA) have surrendered to security forces in Balochistan’s Noshki area along with weapons and ammunition, said a statement issued by Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

According to Pakistan Army’s media wing, the militants of banned terrorist outfit laid weapons as result of intelligence efforts. The key terrorists have been identified as Wali Khan and Karghani.

Meanwhile in Punjab, Rangers along with police and intelligence agencies conducted intelligence-based operations (IBOs) in Faisalabad, Lahore, and Islamabad.

During the operations, 39 suspects including eight illegal Afghans were arrested in the last two days, added ISPR.

Illegal weapons and ammunition of different calibers were recovered from the suburbs of Faisalabad.

It is worth mentioning here that a key activist of notorious militant organization BLA, Abdul Rasool alias Ustad along his group surrendered to security forces last month.

The man was involved in terrorist activities in Pasni, Kulanch, Dasht and Mand areas of Balochistan.

The surrender took place as a result of writ of state established through effective intelligence and successful security operations, said the ISPR.

Earlier in June, at least 26 militants, belonging to an outlawed outfit, surrendered to authorities in Khuzdar district of Balochistan.

The militants laid down their arms during a ceremony at Kalat Scouts Camp.

Operation Radd-ul-Fasaad entails conduct of broad spectrum security and counter-terrorism operations by Rangers in Punjab, a continuation of ongoing operations across the country and focuses on more effective border security management. The operation also includes a countrywide deweponisation and explosive control.
